LAVALAMP is a “walking simulator”–style video game that tells a psychedelic story about the importance of eating breakfast and saving the Space Lemmings from Space, abstract beings inspired by breakfast-cereal mascots. It is the first game created by Montreal-based Gabriel Ledoux, originally a composer and sound designer, under the name Space Lemmings from Space Productions.

The player is invited to click on objects that make sounds while moving through colorful environments.

Sarah Albu and David E. Cronkite, singers from Montreal’s contemporary music scene, provided the voices. Actor, playwright, and author Thomas Duret handled the revision and literary guidance for the script.

The game enjoyed underground success, with over 93% positive reviews on Steam. Its sequel, BOREDOM, is currently in development.
